To assess the diagnostic criteria of transrectal radial ultrasonography to differentiate a cervical carcinoma confined to the cervix from a lesion that invades the parametria, data on 41 patients with newly diagnosed, untreated cervical carcinoma were studied following transrectal ultrasonography (TRU).
