A study to investigate the socioeconomic impact of lymphatic filariasis was conducted in a rural community in northern Ghana. The incidence, severity, and duration of acute adenolymphangitis (ADL), as identified by local terminologies and confirmed using World Health Organization diagnostic criteria, were investigated.
