A flat distribution of low gas entropy in the core region of gal axy clusters is a feature commonly found in Eulerian cosmological simulations, at varia nce with most standard simulations of Smoothed Particles Hydrodynamics fashion. From the lite rature it is still unclear whether this difference is entirely due to numerical artifacts (e.g . spurious transfer from gravitational energy to thermal energy), to physical mechanisms (e.g. enh anced mixing in Eulerian codes) or to a mixture of both…
