OBJECTIVES Malabsorptive bariatric procedures such as Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) place patients at risk for developing kidney stones. Stone risk factors after purely restrictive procedures such as gastric banding and sleeve gastrectomy are not well characterized.
