AbstractThe effects of an aliphatic reactive diluent on the viscosity, gel time, chemical resistance, mechanical properties, fracture toughness, microstructure and relaxations of two different epoxy resins, i.e., a bifunctional and a multifunctional epoxy, were investigated. The gel time was not significantly affected by the diluent. The modulus and ultimate strength gradually declined, while the ductility steadily increased as the diluent content was increased. The failure mode of epoxy…
Effect of Diluents on Mechanical Characteristics of Epoxy Compounds
The aim of this work is to assess the influence of different commercial diluents on some mechanical properties of two bisphenolic epoxy compounds, cold-cured by a polyamide curing agent, to be
Effect of Halloysite Nanotubes on Matrix Microcracking in Carbon Fiber/Epoxy Composites
Matrix microcracking is considered the main factor responsible for the gas permeation in linerless pressure vessels and storage tanks. The addition of halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) to them at different

Effect of Different Diluents on the Main Properties of the Epoxy-Based Composite
The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of different types and concentrations (0, 5, 10, and 15 phr) of benzyl alcohol (BA), dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and 1,4Butanediol
Tailoring Epoxy Resin Foams by Pre-Curing with Neat Amine Hardeners and Its Derived Carbamates
It was found that both pre-curing times for the 30/70w IPDA/B-IPDA system reveal a more homogeneous cell structure, which proves that the blending of neat amine and carbamate is beneficial for the foaming performance of carbamate systems.

Rheological and simulation for macromolecular matrix epoxy bi-functional aromatic amines
The rheological behaviors of four aromatic amine-based epoxy monomers for were evaluated and compared. The four epoxy monomers are useful for making cross-linked epoxy resin, the monomers are
Developments in reactive diluents: a review
Nowadays, industries are focussing on reducing the concentration of the volatile organic component in the coatings, also easing the toxicity that comes hand in hand with the usage of petroleum-based

Modification of dicyandiamide-cured epoxy resin with different molecular weights of polyethylene glycol and its effect on epoxy/glass prepreg characteristics
Epoxy resins are widely used in the manufacture of structural composites; however, the inherent brittleness of epoxy matrices has restricted their applications. In this work, a diglycidyl ether of
High mechanical properties of epoxy networks with dangling chains and tunable microphase separation structure
