Context Health plans categorize physicians into cost profile groups according to how much the health plan spends on care for their patients. Contribution When the authors used 12 different rules to categorize physicians into cost profiles, they found that between 17% and 61% of physicians were assigned to groups different from what they would be assigned to under the most commonly used rule.
