Cuttings of rose cultivar Illona were grown in pots and treated with different levels of cytokinin (0, 0.1, 1 and 10 µmol/l) and calcium (0, 10, 20 and 30 mmol/l). Cut flowers were harvested and kept in the distilled water and under laboratory conditions. The cytokinin and calcium application decreased senescence percentage and electrolyte leakage and increased activity of anti-oxidant enzymes, catalase and peroxidase.
