Abstract An environmental analysis based on the ostracod fauna was carried out on 43 sediment samples collected during the Geocosta Rio II Expedition to the northern continental margin of State of Rio de Janeiro, between the town of Cabo Frio and the Saquarema Lagoon (22°55′/23°5′S; 42°00′/42°20′W), Brazil. From a total of 67 species, 31 are considered to be new and are left in open nomenclature. Sedimentological and bathymetric parameters were compared with the relative frequency, dominance…
A NEW HOLOCENE NERITIC SPECIES OF AUSTRALOECIA MCKENZIE (OSTRACODA, PONTOCYPRIDIDAE) FROM THE BRAZILIAN SHELF
This study is based on 923 samples of dry sediments collected along all the Brazilian shelf by the REMAC Project and the GEOMAR I, II and III, and 11 more samples collected by the Researcher Vessel
Taxonomy and climatic zonation of the Late Quaternary bathyal ostracods from the Campos Basin, Brazil
Abstract This work represents a new contribution to the knowledge on deep-sea ostracods from the western South Atlantic Ocean based on the core GL77 drilled in the Campos Basin (40°02′50″W;
Ostracoda (Crustacea) from the infralittoral of Santa Catarina State, southern Brazil
TLDR
In this study, both live and dead ostracodes recovered from 62 samples of algae and sediments from the upper rocky infralittoral of the central and northern regions of Santa Catarina State, southern Brazil, were studied.
Ostracoda (Crustacea) from the Archipelago of São Pedro and São Paulo, Equatorial Atlantic, with emphasis on a new Hemicytheridae genus
TLDR
One new genus and species are described and illustrated: Berguecythere insularis gen. nov, widely distributed in recent sediments in the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, north and northeast of Brazil and the Rocas Atoll.
RICHNESS AND PALAEO-ZOOGEOGRAPHICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE BENTHIC OSTRACODA (CRUSTACEA) FROM THE OCEANIC ISLAND OF TRINDADE AND ROCAS ATOLL, BRAZIL
TLDR
The recorded fauna reveals a mixed fauna likely influenced by dispersal of shallow-water taxa between seamounts during Quaternary sea-level lowstands, and endemic ostracode taxa are apparently absent in these two islands.
The Ecology of The Ostracoda (Crustacea) Species Obtained From Erdek Bay (The Marmara Sea, Turkey)
AbstractThe aim of this study was to determine the ecology of the Ostracoda species in the sediments collected from the Erdek Bay and to observe the relationship between ecological parameters with
DISTRIBUTION OF RECENT OSTRACODA IN OFFSHORE SEDIMENT OF SELECTED STATIONS IN THE SULU SEA, SABAH
TLDR
The abundance and diversity of ostracoda are principally controlled by the depth factor, and a correlation analysis showed that depth is positively correlated with Index of Diversity, H(s).
The ecology of the Ostracoda (Crustacea) species obtained from the coasts of Iskenderun Bay (Eastern Mediterranean Sea)
TLDR
Nine dominant species were adapted well to the coastal ecosystem of Iskenderun Bay, the Eastern Mediterranean Sea and were determined as dominant species.
The Subfamily Cytheropterinae Hanai, 1957 (Subphylum Crustacea, Class Ostracoda) from the Southern Brazilian Continental Shelf
TLDR
The study of the subfamily Cytheropterinae from the southern Brazilian continental shelf reveals the presence of four genera and nine species, including two newly described and two left in open nomenclature.
Copepoda Harpacticoida community of a rocky shore under the influence of upwelling (Arraial do Cabo, southeastern Brazil)
Upwelling can determine important changes in community structure on rocky shores. However, studies on the meiofauna in areas of upwelling are scarce and do not include analysis on the species level

Zoogeography of Holocene Podocopina (Ostracoda) from the Brazilian Equatorial shelf
TLDR
Faunal similarities between these provinces are at the generic rather than species level; exceptions are few and consist of conservative Tethyan species that are cosmopolitan.
Taxonomy and Distribution Patterns of Recent Species of Callistocythere Ruggieri, 1953 (Ostracoda) from the Brazilian Contiental Shelf
TLDR
The Southern limit of the Transitional Assemblage is extended to latitude 23oS and the majority of the species is epineritic (<40m) and prefer warm waters; only C. Litoralensis occurs in the area of influence of cool waters from the South via the Falkland Current.
Taxonomy and palaeoceanographical significance of the genus Krithe (Ostracoda) in the Brazilian margin
TLDR
It is here suggested that the Falkland Current was already operating in the Miocene, and it is here recognized as being useful as palaeoceanographic indicators.
How do cold water biota arrive in a tropical bay near Rio de Janeiro, Brazil?
Abstract Previous ecological studies on foraminifera and ostracoda from the tropical Sepetiba Bay, located in the southern part of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, have noted the presence in this
Ostracoda from the South West Atlantic. Part I. The Falkland Islands
The podocopid Ostracoda of East Falkland are studied on the basis of a number of litoral and inmediate sublittotal samples. A total of 33 species are recorded belonging to 27 genera. Only 7 species
SUB-RECENT MARINE OSTRACODA (PONTOCYPRIDIDAE AND BAIRDIIDAE) FROM THE SOUTHERN BRAZILIAN CONTINENTAL SHELF
This work is part of a long-term project that attempts to describe the Ostracoda present in the southern Brazilian shelf between Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Sul states (almost 2,050 km in
Taxonomy and ecology of the Family Cytheruridae (Ostracoda) in Recent sediments from the northern Rio de Janeiro coast, Brazil
TLDR
The ecology and distribution of the fauna suggest that the presence of many of these species, which also occur in colder waters off the coast of Uruguay and Argentina, is probably due to the upwelling of the South Atlantic Central Water in this area.
The taxonomy and zoogeography of the family Trachyleberididae (Crustacea: Ostracoda) from the Equatorial Continental Shelf of Brazil
