An estimate of the spatial curve of pitch dominance for the repetition pitch of ripple noise was measured using the pitch strength discrimination procedure. A variety of stimulus conditions were examined. The peripheral weighting model [Yost and Hill, J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 66, 400-410 (1979)] of repetition pitch assumes a relationship between the curve of pitch dominance and the shape of the psychophysical suppression of unmasking function.
