  • Abstract Copper single crystals oriented for single slip have been strained cyclically at plastic shear-strain amplitudes γpl in the approximate range ≈ 10−4 to ≈10−2. Static observations and in situ cycling studies were performed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) in order to investigate the dependence of the microstructure on γpl and its possible consequences.
