The cutaneous histology of dermatomyositis in collie dogs.

Cutaneous lesions of 36 collie dogs affected with dermatomyositis were reviewed. The most common histologic features were follicular atrophy and perifollicular inflammation in 30 dogs, which correlated with alopecia clinically.
