This review provides a theoretical basis for understanding the current-phase relation (CPhiR) for the stationary (dc) Josephson effect in various types of superconducting junctions. The authors summarize recent theoretical developments with an emphasis on the fundamental physical mechanisms of the deviations of the CPhiR from the standard sinusoidal form. A new experimental tool for measuring the CPhiR is described and its practical applications are discussed. The method allows one to measure…

Pure second harmonic current-phase relation in spin-filter Josephson junctions.

Experiments with Josephson junctions incorporating a spin-dependent tunnelling barrier are reported, revealing a current-phase relation for highly spin polarized barriers that is purely second harmonic in nature and is insensitive to changes in barrier thickness.

Electric modulation of supercurrent in triplet Josephson junction

Coherent current states in a two-band superconductor

Homogeneous current states in thin films and Josephson current in superconducting microbridges are studied within the framework of a two-band Ginzburg–Landau theory. By solving the coupled system of

Superconducting quantum interference filters consisting of Josephson junctions with unconventional current-phase relation

Superconducting quantum interference filters (SQIFs) are parallel or serial Josephson junction arrays with a unique DC voltage output around vanishing magnetic field B = 0. Certain features of the
