  • Studies and interpretation of perinatal statistics have traditionally been the concern of politicians, demographs, epidemiologists, pathologist, obstetricians, pediatricians and neonatologists (this list is not in order of importance). As the question asked by each of these disciplines varies, it is understandably difficult to reach a consensus in establishing criteria for optimal birth registration.
