Abstract Platypharodon extremus Herzenstein, 1891 (Cyprinidae: Schizothoracinae), is a monotypic genus species only found in the Qinghai–Tibet plateau of China. Due to human disturbance and related environmental change since the 1950s, the population of P. extremus declined rapidly. As a result, it was listed in the China Red Data Book of Endangered Animal and the China’s Protected Species Priority List. There exist very limited researches done on P. extremus. The poor understanding of this… Expand
The complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Schizopygopsis pylzovi (Cypriniformes: Cyprinidae)
TLDR
The complete mitochondrial DNA genome of S. pylzovi was sequenced andGene order is similar to that of the typical vertebrate, as is nucleotide composition and codon usage. Expand
Convergent evolution misled taxonomy in schizothoracine fishes (Cypriniformes: Cyprinidae).
TLDR
This work conducted the most comprehensive molecular analysis on HSG fishes to date, using four mitochondrial loci and 152,464 genome-wide SNPs, and including 21 of 24 putative species and one undescribed Schizopygopsis species, and suggested that trophic traits could be misleading in fish taxonomy. Sequence and organization of the complete mitochondrial genome of Schizothorax davidi (Teleostei: Cypriniformes: Cyprinidae)
TLDR
The complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Schizothorax davidi provides useful genetic markers for the studies on molecular systematic, population genetics, and phylogeography. Expand

The complete nucleotide sequence of the Crossostoma lacustre mitochondrial genome: conservation and variations among vertebrates.
TLDR
The complete mitochondrial genome of Crossostoma lacustre, a freshwater loach from mountain stream of Taiwan, has been cloned and sequenced and provides evidence for the first time for the conservation of genetic information in the fish mitochondrial genome, especially among the vertebrates. Expand
The complete mitochondrial DNA sequence of the Mekong giant catfish (Pangasianodon gigas), and the phylogenetic relationships among Siluriformes.
TLDR
Phylogenetic analyses of the protein data set supported a closer relationship of the Mekong giant catfish (family Pangasiidae) to Siluridae than to Bagridae, and the rRNA-based Bayesian phylogeny recovered Callichthyidae as the sister group of all other analyzed non-diplomystid catfish families, rendering Loricarioidei paraphyletic.
