Abstract Chuanchia labiosa Herzenstein, 1891 (Cyprinidae: Schizothoracinae) is the sole species of genus Chuanchia and is endemic to China. This species plays an important role in the upper reaches of the Yellow River and has been listed in both the China Red Data Book of Endangered Animal and the China Species Red List.
