Re-Evaluation of the First Phenytoin Paste Healing Effects on Oral Biopsy Ulcers
TLDR
Applying 1% phenytoin mucoadhesive paste on oral biopsy incisions resulted in accelerated wound healing and decrease in pain. Expand
[Scientific production on the applicability of phenytoin in wound healing].
TLDR
Topical use of phenytoinis scientifically evidenced, however robust research is needed that supports a protocol for the use ofphenytoinas another option of a healing agent in clinical practice. Expand
To compare the efficacy of topical phenytoin over conventional wound care (5% povidone-iodine) in diabetic ulcer
TLDR
Penytoin is used for diabetic foot ulcers comparing its efficacy over conventional dressing and that group for which Phenytoin dressing was done underwent SSG or secondary suturing in this study. Expand
Role of Phenytoin in Diabetic Foot Ulcers
TLDR
A case of diabetic foot ulcer managed with injection phenytoin sprayed topically over the wound is reported. Expand
Bedsores successfully treated with topical phenytoin
TLDR
Topical phenytoin has been used as wound-healing agent in 19 documented cases of bedsores, divided in treated and placebo group, and results showed that pheny toin treated patients healed their wounds significantly before (p<0.001) with respect to controls. Expand
Two percent topical phenytoin sodium solution in treating pyoderma gangrenosum: a cohort study
TLDR
Phenytoin sodium 2% solution is beneficial for pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) with various etiologies and enhanced the healing of the ulcer especially when the patient has treatment resistant disease. Expand
The impact of topical phenytoin on recalcitrant neuropathic diabetic foot ulceration.
TLDR
Topical phenytoin can enhance wound healing in recalcitrant neuropathic diabetic foot ulcers, although only one-quarter of patients achieved more than 50% reduction in ulcer size after eight weeks of therapy. Expand
Comparative trial of Aloe vera/olive oil combination cream versus phenytoin cream in the treatment of chronic wounds.

TLDR
The present literature indicates that topical phenytoin deserves further investigation as a wound-healing agent in controlled dose-finding clinical trials. Expand
COMPARISON OF TOPICAL PHENYTOIN WITH NORMAL SALINE IN THE TREATMENT OF CHRONIC TROPHIC ULCERS IN LEPROSY
Background. Trophic ulceration, one of the most common complications of leprosy, is disabling, distressing, and demoralizing for the patient.
The use of topical phenytoin as an adjunct to immobilization in the treatment of trophic leprosy ulcers.
TLDR
Results indicate that while immobilization of the ulcer site is effective in promoting ulcer healing, additional use of topical phenytoin accelerates the healing process and there may however be non-responders to topical phenYtoin. Expand
Topical Phenytoin in Diabetic Foot Ulcers
TLDR
Penytoin appears to be useful as a topical agent in promoting the healing of diabetic foot ulcers and improved in both groups. Expand

TLDR
This study has the hall marks of a real clinical trial, has raised the possibility of wound healing properties of phenytoin and confirms the results of others. Expand

A comparison of topical Phenytoin with Silverex in the treatment of superficial dermal burn wounds.
TLDR
Phenytoin is a cheap and easy-to-use medicament, effective in suppressing burn wound bacteria and relieving pain thereby promoting healing, and may be advocated for the purpose in resource-scarce environments. Expand
Role of phenytoin in wound healing--a wound pharmacology perspective.
TLDR
It appears that both gingiva and skin are important extrahepatic sites for xenobiotic metabolism, and analysis of the biochemical mechanisms should lead to the design of safer analogues for wound healing. Expand
