Four neuropeptides, substance P, neurokinin A, calcitonin gene-related peptide and neuropeptide Y, were detected by radioimmunoassay in guinea-pig vestibular end-organs. High-resolution confocal microscopy visualization of immunofluorescence staining was used to determine the cellular localization of these peptides.
