The recovered topology strongly supported the hypothesis that lampreys separated from hagfishes about 409 MYA, and that lamprey divergence involved the early radiation of Mordaciidae followed by the monophyletic divergence of Geotriidae plus Petromyzontidae about 85 MYA.
