The presence of autoantibodies to the Ro52 protein in sera from patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathies has recently been reported. These antibodies were found predominately in sera with the myositis-specific autoantibody anti-histidyl-tRNA synthetase (anti-Jo-1).
