A bstractWe consider the determination of the finite temperature phase transition in the Yang-Mills SU(3) gauge theory. We compute the difference of the spatial and temporal energy density at a physical Wilson flow time. This difference is zero in the confined phase and becomes non zero in the deconfined phase. We locate the phase transition by using a new technique based on an exponential smoothing spline. This method is an alternative to the determination of the phase transition based on the…

Confinement study of an SU(4) gauge theory with fermions in multiple representations

We discuss the phase diagnostics used in our finite-temperature study of an SU(4) gauge theory with dynamical fermions in both the fundamental and two-index antisymmetric representations. Beyond the

Finite-temperature phase structure of SU(4) gauge theory with multiple fermion representations

We investigate the phase structure of SU(4) gauge theory with the gauge field simultaneously coupled to two flavors of fermion in the fundamental representation and two flavors of fermion in the

Chiral Transition of SU(4) Gauge Theory with Fermions in Multiple Representations

We report preliminary results on the finite temperature behavior of SU(4) gauge theory with dynamical quarks in both the fundamental and two-index antisymmetric representations. This system is a

Stealth dark matter confinement transition and gravitational waves

We use non-perturbative lattice calculations to investigate the finite-temperature confinement transition of stealth dark matter, focusing on the regime in which this early-universe transition is

Open-boundary conditions in the deconfined phase

Open-boundary conditions at high temperatures, as they can potentially be of help to measure the topological susceptibility, are considered, and a mass gap at the boundary effects at \documentclass[12pt]{minimal} is observed.

Using Wilson flow to study the SU(3) deconfinement transition

We explore the use of Wilson flow to study the deconfinement transition in SU(3) gauge theory. We use the flowed Polyakov loop as a renormalized order parameter for the transition, and use it to

The gradient flow coupling in the Schrödinger functional

A bstractWe study the perturbative behavior of the Yang-Mills gradient flow in the Schrödinger Functional, both in the continuum and on the lattice. The energy density of the flow field is used to

Thermodynamics of SU(3) lattice gauge theory

Trivializing maps, the Wilson flow and the HMC algorithm

In lattice gauge theory, there exist field transformations that map the theory to the trivial one, where the basic field variables are completely decoupled from one another. Such maps can be

Infinite N phase transitions in continuum Wilson loop operators

We define smoothed Wilson loop operators on a four dimensional lattice and check numerically that they have a finite and nontrivial continuum limit. The continuum operators maintain their character

Continuous smearing of Wilson Loops

Continuum smearing was introduced in section 4.1 of JHEP03, 064 (2006) as a meaningful continuum analogue of the well known set of lattice techniques by the same name. Here we apply continuous
