Based on a high-resolution CO survey of Virgo spirals with the Nobeyama Millimeter-wave Array, we determined the dynamical centers using velocity fields, and derived position–velocity diagrams (PVDs) along the major axes of the galaxies across their dynamical centers. We applied a new iteration method to derive rotation curves (RCs), which reproduce the observed PVDs. The obtained high-accuracy RCs generally show a steep rise in the central ∼100 to 200pc regions, followed by flat rotation in… Expand

The Virgo High-Resolution CO Survey: III. NGC 4254
We present high-angular-resolution (1. 5–5 ) interferometer observations of the 12 CO (J = 1–0) line emission in the central region of the SA(s)c galaxy NGC 4254 (M 99). The observations wereExpand
The Virgo High-Resolution CO Survey : I. CO Atlas
We present the results of the Virgo high-resolution CO survey (ViCS) obtained with the Nobeyama Millimeter-wave Array (NMA). This survey was made in the course of a long-term project at Nobeyama fromExpand
CO-Line Rotation Curves, Deep Potential of Massive Cores, and High-density Molecular Nuclei
We review observational studies of central rotation curves of spiral galaxies using the Nobeyama mm-wave interferometer in the CO 2.6-mm line emission. The observed high-accuracy rotation curves showExpand
A Virgo high-resolution Hα kinematical survey — II. The Atlas
A catalogue of ionized gas velocity fields for a sample of 30 spiral and irregular galaxies of the Virgo cluster has been obtained by using 3D optical data. The aim of this survey is to study theExpand
Rotation and Mass in the Milky Way and Spiral Galaxies
[PASJ Review Paper] Rotation curves are the basic tool for deriving the distribution of mass in spiral galaxies. In this review, we describe various methods to measure rotation curves in the MilkyExpand
The Virgo High-Resolution CO Survey: VI. Gas Dynamics and Star Formation along the Bar in NGC 4303
We present CO interferometer observations of the barred galaxy NGC 4303 (M 61). This galaxy has a strong gas concentration at the central region and prominent offset ridges at the leading sides ofExpand
Structure and Kinematics of CO?J?=?2-1 Emission in the Central Region of NGC?4258
We present 12CO J = 2-1 observations toward the central region of the type 2 Seyfert galaxy NGC 4258 with the Submillimeter Array (SMA). Our interferometric maps show two armlike elongated componentsExpand
Structure and kinematics of edge-on galaxy discs: III. The rotation curves in the gas
A technique is introduced for deriving the gaseous rotation curves of edge-on spiral galaxies. The entire major axis position-velocity (XV) diagram is modelled with a set of rings in a least-squaresExpand
Molecular gas in the centre of nearby galaxies from VLT/SINFONI integral field spectroscopy - II. Kinematics
We present an analysis of the H2 emission-line gas kinematics in the inner ≲4 arcsec radius of six nearby spiral galaxies, based on adaptive optics-assisted integral-field observations obtained inExpand
Nobeyama CO Atlas of Nearby Spiral Galaxies: Distribution of Molecular Gas in Barred and Nonbarred Spiral Galaxies
The data from a CO(1 - 0) mapping survey of 40 nearby spiral galaxies performed with the Nobeyama 45-m telescope are presented. The criteria of the sample selection were (1) RC3 morphological type inExpand
