An ultrasonic mister is used to consolidate flaking paint at the Canadian Conservation Institute. Originally designed for treatment of flaking pigments on ethnographic objects, it was modified for use on works of art on paper. The mister is described and illustrated in detail. The treatment of a gouache by Michael Snow, Black Sun (early 1950s), is described.
