Expand
Die phylogenetische Stellung der Stygocarididae (Crustacea, Syncarida) - unter besonderer Beriicksichtigung morphologischer Xhnlichkeiten mit Larvenformen der Eucarida
TLDR
Comparison with larval forms of primitive Eucarida indicates that these characters are very likely of neotenic origin and the agreement of the Stygocarididae with the Anaspidacea in these characters together with the probable neOTenic origin of the peculiar features of this family leave no doubt as to its true phylogenetic position. ISTHMIOCARIS LONGITELSON GEN. ET SP. NOV., A STRONGLY DERIVED HARPACTICOID (COPEPODA) FROM THE MAGELLAN REGION, AND ITS SYSTEMATIC AFFINITIES TO CERTAIN “CANTHOCAMPTID” TAXA
TLDR
Zeichnet sich durch eine Reihe besonderer Merkmale aus, wie einem kragenartigen zusatzlichen Pseudosomit zwischen Cephalothorax und dem ersten schwimmbeintragenden Segment, einem bemerkenswert langen Telson. Expand
Homology and homoeomorphy in ostracod limbs
TLDR
The hypothesis is advanced that podocopan ostracods are derived from much nearer the base of the crown-group Crustacea than myodocopans, and the absence of epipodites, combined with the lack of a coxa in post-mandibular limbs, is potentially indicative of closer affinities between pods and Cambrian stem-group crustaceans. A crustacean with eumalacostracan affinities from the Early Devonian Hunsrück Slate (SW Germany)
TLDR
The new fossil genus and species Hohensteiniella engeli, represented by a single specimen, exhibits a typical shrimp-like habitus and represents the first crustacean with eumalacostracan affinities from the Hunsruck Slate. Expand
The urosome of the Pan- and Peracarida
TLDR
Embryologic data indicates that the condition of the body terminus in amphipods cannot be easily characterized, though there does appear to be at least a transient seventh segment that seems to fuse with the sixth segment. Expand
Functional Morphology of the Myodocopine (Ostracoda) Furca and Sclerotized Body Plate
TLDR
This study shows that the furca has several major functions in the feeding process of scavenging cypridinid (Myodocopina) ostracods, which include the cutting and holding of small food sections from an animal carcass, helping to hold the ostracod firmly in position on a carcasses, and removing small fish scales. Expand
Phylogeny of the taxon Paralaophontodes Lang (Copepoda, Harpacticoida, Laophontodinae), including species descriptions, chorological remarks, and a key to species
TLDR
The monophylum Paralaophontodes is supported by 16 unambiguous autapomorphies such as the presence of characteristic dorsal processes on cephalothorax and body somites, a 5-segmented male antennule, the loss of the syncoxal seta on the maxilliped, and the endopodal strengthening of the first swimming leg. Expand
On the origin of the putative furca of the Ostracoda (Crustacea)
The posterior end of body of the extant ostracods exhibits a pair of variously shaped appendages, commonly designated as furca(e), uropods or caudal rami, used for feeding and/or locomotion. It isExpand
Appendage Homologies and the First Record of Eyes in Platycopid Ostracods, with the Description of a New Species of Keijcyoidea (Crustacea: Ostracoda) from Japan
TLDR
A median nauplius eye is reported for the first time in a platycopid ostracod, a group hitherto considered to be blind, and the homologies and phylogenetic implications of the trunk segmentation and limbs are discussed. Expand
A new genus of Parastenocarididae (Copepoda, Harpacticoida) from the Tocantins River basin (Goiás, Brazil), and a phylogenetic analysis of the Parastenocaridinae
TLDR
This is the first time a non-Remaneicaris Parastenocaridinae is described from a Neotropical region indicating that Parastinocarids species were already present in a vast geographical area, before the split of the Gondwana. Expand

Lehrbuch der vergleichenden Entwicklungsgeschichte der wirbellosen Thiere
TLDR
At present there is only a first instalment, but even this contains an enormous amount of matter, including, as it does, a review of all the recent work on the physiology of development, besides a complete history of the sexual cells. Expand
On the Embryology of the Crustacean Nebalia Bipes
TLDR
The mode of development of the former is said to resemble that of the Mysidacea, but the embryology of no Leptostracan has been adequately followed, and the recent work on mysid development has considerably modified many previous views on this subject. Expand
Larvae of decapod crustacea
TLDR
The remainder of the work on Decapod Larvae which I had not dared to hope would ever be published is accepted, and the general part is as I originally planned it, but the descriptive part has been much curtailed. Expand
