We report the discovery of 13 251 visual double stars, mostly with separations between 0.3 and 1 arcsec, from a dedicated re-reduction of the Tycho data from the star mapper of the ESA Hipparcos satellite. The new doublesare combined with 18 160 WDS systems identified in the Tycho-2 Catalogue, and 1220 new Tycho-2 doubles, to form the Tycho Double Star Catalogue, TDSC, a catalogue of absolute astrometry and B T , V T photometry for 66219 components of 32631 double and multiple star systems. We…

Multicolour CCD measurements of visual double and multiple stars. III
Context. Recent CCD observations were performed in the period 1998-2004 for a large sample of visual double and multiple stars selected from the Hipparcos Catalogue and/or from the Gliese Catalogue
Dynamical study of wide pairs of stars based on data from the WDS catalog
Using the method of apparent motion parameters, we have studied the relative motion of the components in 561 pairs of wide (ρ > 2″) and relatively nearby (Hipparcos parallaxes > 0.01″) visual double
New triple systems in the RasTyc sample of stellar X-ray sources ,,
Context. During the study of a large set of late-type stellar X-ray sources, we discovered a high fraction of multiple systems. Aims. In this paper we investigate the orbital elements and kinematic
New Hipparcos-based Parallaxes for 424 Faint Stars
We present a catalog of 424 common proper-motion companions to Hipparcos stars with good (>3 σ) parallaxes, thereby effectively providing new parallaxes for these companions. Compared with typical
A Spectroscopic Survey of the Youngest Field Stars in the Solar Neighborhood. II. The optically faint sample
Star formation in the solar neighborhood is mainly traced by young stars in open clusters, associations and in the field, which can be identified by their X-ray emission. The determination of stellar
Multicolour CCD measurements of nearby visual double stars. II
We present accurate CCD astrometric and photometric data for 31 nearby visual double stars in the standard fil- ters BVRI. The observations were collected with a 1.3-m telescope in 2001-2002 . The
Spectroscopic and photometric analysis of NSV 24512: an early-type eclipsing binary embedded in a dust cloud
We present differential V-band photometric observations and the first radial velocities of NSV 24512, which is embedded in the Serpens star-forming region. This double-lined system has an eccentric
First Orbit and Mass Determinations for Nine Visual Binaries
This paper presents the first published orbits and masses for nine visual double stars: WDS 00149–3209 (B 1024), WDS 01006+4719 (MAD 1), WDS 03130+4417 (STT 51), WDS 04357+3944 (HU 1084), WDS
Astrometric Mass Ratios of 248 Long-period Binary Stars Resolved in Hipparcos and Gaia EDR3
Using the absolute astrometric positions and proper motions for common stars in the Hipparcos and Gaia catalogs separated by 24.75 yr in the mean epoch, we compute mass ratios for long-period,
A spectroscopic survey of the youngest field stars in the solar neighbourhood
Aims. We present the first results of an ambitious ground-based observation programme conducted on 1–4 m class telescopes. Our sample consists of 1097 active and presumably young stars, all of them

DOUBLE STARS IN THE TYCHO-2 CATALOGUE
The Tycho-2 Catalogue provides astrometric and photometric information for 2.5 million stars. Within the Tycho-2 Catalogue, while there is no separate listing of double-star parameters, there is a
Hipparcos astrometry for 257 stars using Tycho-2 data
We present improved Hipparcos astrometry for 257 Hipparcos stars, resolved into 342 components. For 64 of the stars no astrometry was obtained in the Hipparcos Catalogue, while for the remaining

The Fifth Catalog of Orbits of Visual Binary Stars continues the series of compilations of visual binary star orbits published by Finsen, Worley, and Heintz from the 1930s to the 1980s. As of 2001
Visual Double Stars Orbits Obtained by Apparent Motion Parameters Method at Pulkovo
The orbital elements and masses of 12 wide visual double stars are determined by the Apparent Motion Parameters (AMP) method. These binaries are the following: ADS 48, 5983 (Delta Gem), 7251, 8002,
The red-dwarf binary sigma 2398.
The plate collection of the Swarthmore refractor for the 1918-1987 period is examined in order to study the orbital elements of the red-dwarf binary Sigma2398. The results are used to obtain a

A little more than a century and a half has passed since F.G.W. Struve began to provide the astronomical world with visual double star measures of both quantity and quality. Since that time, nearly a
Resolved double-lined spectroscopic binaries: A neglected source of hypothesis-free parallaxes and stellar masses
Double-lined spectroscopic binaries, once visually resolved (VB-SB2), provide hypothesis-free orbital parallaxes and masses of both components. Unlike eclipsing-spectroscopic binaries for which many
Henry Draper catalogue identifications for Tycho-2 stars
We present identications in the Tycho-2 Catalogue, for 99.8 per cent of the stars in the Henry Draper Catalogue and for 96 per cent of the Henry Draper Extensions.
