The Star Clusters of the Small Magellanic Cloud: Structural Parameters

  title={The Star Clusters of the Small Magellanic Cloud: Structural Parameters},
  author={Andrew Hill and Dennis Zaritsky},
We present structural parameters for 204 stellar clusters in the Small Magellanic Cloud derived from fitting King and Elson, Fall, & Freeman model profiles to the V-band surface brightness profiles as measured from the Magellanic Clouds Photometric Survey images. Both King and EFF profiles are satisfactory fits to the majority of the profiles although King profiles are generally slightly superior to the softened power-law profiles of Elson, Fall, and Freeman and provide statistically acceptable… Expand

The VISCACHA survey – II. Structure of star clusters in the Magellanic Clouds periphery
We provide a homogeneous set of structural parameters of 83 star clusters located at the periphery of the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) and the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). The clusters' stellarExpand
STEP survey – II. Structural analysis of 170 star clusters in the SMC
We derived surface brightness profiles in the g band for 170 Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) star clusters (SCs) mainly located in the central region of the galaxy. We provide a set of homogeneousExpand
Hints of Multiple Populations in Intermediate-age Clusters of the Small Magellanic Cloud
We report on the magnitude of the intrinsic [Fe/H] spread in the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) intermediate-age massive clusters NGC 339, 361, Lindsay 1 and 113, respectively. In order to measure theExpand
Star clusters in the dwarf irregular galaxy Leo A
Context. Leo A is an isolated gas-rich dwarf irregular galaxy of low stellar mass and metallicity residing at the outskirts of the Local Group. Ages of the stellar populations in Leo A range from ∼10Expand
The VISCACHA survey – I. Overview and first results
The VISCACHA (VIsible Soar photometry of star Clusters in tApii and Coxi HuguA) Survey is an ongoing project based on deep photometric observations of Magellanic Cloud star clusters, collected usingExpand
The Second Data Release of the Survey of the MAgellanic Stellar History (SMASH)
The Large and Small Magellanic Clouds (LMC and SMC) are the largest satellite galaxies of the Milky Way and close enough to allow for a detailed exploration of their structure and formation history.Expand
The structure of Small Magellanic Cloud star clusters
It has been recently shown from observational data sets the variation of structural parameters and internal dynamical evolution of star clusters in the Milky Way and in the Large Magellanic CloudExpand
Strömgren metallicities for intermediate-age and old star clusters
We report results that show that the straightforwardly star cluster metallicities obtained from Stromgren $vby$ photometry is age-dependent and need to be corrected for further use. This outcomeExpand
