We present the reduction of the 24 μm data obtained during the first cosmological survey performed by the Spitzer Space Telescope. Images of a region of sky at moderately high Galactic latitude (l = 88.°3, b = +34.°9) were obtained on 2003 December 9-11. The survey consists of a shallow observation of 2.°5 × 2° centered at 17h18m, +59°30′ (main survey) and a deeper observation of 1° × 0.°5 centered at 17h17m, +59°45′ (verification survey). Issues with the reduction of the 24 μm MIPS data are…
S-COSMOS: The Spitzer Legacy Survey of the Hubble Space Telescope ACS 2 deg2 COSMOS Field I: Survey Strategy and First Analysis
The COSMOS Spitzer survey (S-COSMOS) is a Legacy program (Cycles 2+3) designed to carry out a uniform deep survey of the full 2 deg2 COSMOS field in all seven Spitzer bands (3.6, 4.5, 5.6, 8.0, 24.0,
Spectroscopic Identifications of Spitzer Sources in the SWIRE/XMM-Newton/ELAIS-S1 Field: A Large Fraction of Active Galactic Nucleus with High F(24 μm)/F(R) Ratio
We present a catalog of optical spectroscopic identifications of sources detected by Spitzer at 3.6 or 24 μm down to ∼10 and ∼280 μJy, respectively, in the SWIRE/XMM-Newton/ELAIS-S1 field and
HST NICMOS Imaging of z ~ 2, 24 μm-selected Ultraluminous Infrared Galaxies
We present Hubble Space Telescope NICMOS H-band imaging of 33 ultraluminous infrared galaxies (ULIRGs) at z ∼ 2 that were selected from the 24 μm catalog of the Spitzer Extragalactic First Look
Spectroscopic Survey of 1.4 GHz and 24 μm Sources in the Spitzer First Look Survey with WIYN Hydra
We present an optical spectroscopic survey of 24 μm and 1.4 GHz sources, detected in the Spitzer extragalactic First Look Survey (FLS), using the multifiber spectrograph, Hydra, on the WIYN
Absolute Calibration and Characterization of the Multiband Imaging Photometer for Spitzer. I. The Stellar Calibrator Sample and the 24 μm Calibration
We present the stellar calibrator sample and the conversion from instrumental to physical units for the 24 μm channel of the Multiband Imaging Photometer for Spitzer (MIPS). The primary calibrators
Counting individual galaxies from deep 24-μm Spitzer surveys
We address the question of how to deal with confusion-limited surveys in the mid-infrared (MIR) domain by using information from shorter-wavelength observations over the same sky regions. Such
Deep 610-MHz Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope observations of the Spitzer extragalactic First Look Survey field - III. The radio properties of Infrared-Faint Radio Sources
Infrared-faint radio sources (IFRSs) are a class of source which are bright at radio frequencies, but do not appear in deep infrared images. We report the detection of 14 IFRSs within the Spitzer
The HELLAS2XMM survey – XII. The infrared/submillimetre view of an X-ray selected type 2 quasar at z≈ 2
We present multi-wavelength observations (from optical to sub-millimeter, including Spitzer and SCUBA) of H2XMMJ 003357.2−120038 (also GD 158 19), an X-ray selected, luminous narrow-line (Type 2)
Deep 610-MHz Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope observations of the Spitzer extragalactic First Look Survey field – I. Observations, data analysis and source catalogue
Observations of the Spitzer extragalactic First Look Survey field taken at 610 MHz with the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope are presented. Seven individual pointings were observed, covering a total
The HELLAS2XMM survey X. The bolometric output of luminous obscured quasars: The Spitzer perspective
Aims. We aim at estimating the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) and the physical parameters related to the black holes harbored in eight high X-ray-to-optical (FX/FR > 10) obscured quasars at z >
