A Study of the Socio-Economic Problems of the Morans, M.Phil
- Dutta, A. C. Assam Moran Sabha
The socio-economic problems of the ethnic groups of a country are a major concern of the present time. For the development of the socio-economic problems of the people in general and the ethnic groups in particular apart from the government efforts, positive initiation of the socio-economic organizations is most important. When the people are suffering from unsuitable health services, illiteracy, poor housing conditions, land alienation, poverty, diseases etc. and they have been deprived from their due share of administrative jobs and other privileges they have generally organised themselves with their sociocultural trait for ameliorating these problems. In India in general and in Assam in particular emerged a large number of such organizations with distinct ethnic identity for improving the socio economic problems of their people.
