The Seventeenth International Conference on Plant Growth Substances (Brno, Czech Republic, July 1–6, 2001)

Abstract

The conference was organized by the Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry (Brno) and the Institute of Experimental Botany (Praha) under the aegis of the International Plant Growth Substance Association. Professor S. Procházka (Czech Republic) was the President of the conference. This was a representative forum attended by more than 700 scientists from all continents. The intense scientific program included 19 sections covering virtually all aspects of hormonal regulation in plants and two sections devoted to the application of new biologically active substances and growth regulators in agriculture. The presentations by leading scientists at sectional sessions were supplemented by 460 posters, mainly presented by young researchers. A large number of reports represented the outcome of cooperative research by scientists from various countries and institutions. The conference was attended by 20 scientists from Russia, who presented two oral reports (G.A. Romanov and I.E. Moshkov) and posters.
