The ferromagnetic integrable SU(3) spin chain provides the one loop anomalous dimension of single trace operators involving the three complex scalars of N = 4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills. We construct the non-linear sigma model describing the continuum limit of the SU(3) spin chain. We find that this sigma model corresponds to a string moving with large angular momentum in the five-sphere in AdS5 × S 5 . The energy and spectrum of fluctuations for rotating circular strings with angular momenta…

Spin chain sigma models with fermions

The complete one-loop planar dilatation operator of N = 4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills is isomorphic to the hamiltonian of an integrable PSU(2 , 2|4) quantum spin chain. We construct the non-linear

The SU(2|3) spin chain sigma model

The one‐loop planar dilatation operator of 𝒩 = 4 supersymmetric Yang‐Mills is isomorphic to the hamiltonian of an integrable PSU(2,2|4) spin chain. We construct the non‐linear sigma model describing

Spin chains and string theory.

This work gives a map between the mean value of the spin in the boundary theory and the position of the string in the bulk, and shows how a string action can emerge from a gauge theory in the large-N limit.

Yang-Mills correlation functions from integrable spin chains

The relation between the dilatation operator of = 4 Yang-Mills theory and integrable spin chains makes it possible to compute the one-loop anomalous dimensions of all operators in the theory. In this

Circular and folded multi-spin strings in spin chain sigma models

From the SU(2) spin chain sigma model at the one-loop and two-loop orders we recover the classical circular string solution with two S5 spins (J1,J2) in the AdS5 ? S5 string theory. In the SL(2)

Bethe ansatz and fluctuations in SU(3) Yang-Mills operators

We consider the scalar operators corresponding to semiclassical string states in AdS5 × S5 with the three angular momenta in S5 non-trivial. The string states recieve quantum corrections and we study

The su ( 2 | 3 ) Dynamic Spin Chain

The complete one-loop, planar dilatation operator of the N = 4 supercon-formal gauge theory was recently derived and shown to be integrable. Here, we present further compelling evidence for a

Spin chains and string theory.

This work gives a map between the mean value of the spin in the boundary theory and the position of the string in the bulk, and shows how a string action can emerge from a gauge theory in the large-N limit.

Spin chains and gauge-string duality

We discuss the string picture behind the integrable spin chains governing the evolution equations in the Yang-Mills theory. We show that the one-loop correction to the dilatation operator in the N=4

Higher Conserved Charges and Integrability for Spinning Strings in AdS(5) x S(5)

We demonstrate the existence of an infinite number of local commuting charges for classical solutions of the string sigma model on AdS 5 × S 5 associated with a certain circular three-spin solution

a Note on Spin Chain/string Duality

Recently a significant progress in matching the anomalous dimensions of certain class of operators in N = 4 SYM and rotating strings was made. The correspondence was established mainly by use of

Matching Higher Conserved Charges for Strings and Spins

We demonstrate that the recently found agreement between one-loop scaling dimensions of large dimension operators in N = 4 gauge theory and energies of spinning strings on AdS5 × S 5 extends to the
