We present a spectro-photometric survey of 2522 extragalactic globular clusters (GCs) around twelve early-type galaxies, nine of which have not been published previously. Combining space‐based and multi‐colour wide field ground‐based imagi ng, with spectra from the Keck DEIMOS instrument, we obtain an average of 160 GC radial velocities per galaxy, with a high velocity precision of 15 km s 1 per GC. After studying the photometric properties of the GC systems, such as their spatial and colour… Expand
The SLUGGS Survey: A Catalog of Over 4000 Globular Cluster Radial Velocities in 27 Nearby Early-type Galaxies
Here, we present positions and radial velocities for over 4000 globular clusters (GCs) in 27 nearby early-type galaxies from the SLUGGS survey. The SLUGGS survey is designed to be representative ofExpand
The SLUGGS survey: the mass distribution in early-type galaxies within five effective radii and beyond
We study mass distributions within and beyond 5 effective radii (Re) in 23 early-type galaxies from the SAGES Legacy Unifying Globulars and Galaxies Survey, using their globular cluster (GC)Expand
The SLUGGS survey*: exploring the globular cluster systems of the Leo II group and their global relationships
We present an investigation of the globular cluster (GC) systems of NGC 3607 and NGC 3608 as part of the ongoing SLUGGS survey. We use wide-field imaging data from the Subaru telescope in the g, r,Expand
The SLUGGS survey: Combining stellar and globular cluster metallicities in the outer regions of early-type galaxies
The outer halo regions of early-type galaxies carry key information about their past accretion history. However, spectroscopically probing the stellar component at such galactocentric radii is stillExpand
The SLUGGS Survey: wide field imaging of the globular cluster system of NGC 4278
We use multipointing Hubble Space Telescope Advanced Camera for Surveys and wide field Subaru Suprime-Cam imaging to study the globular cluster system of the L ∗ elliptical galaxy NGC 4278. We haveExpand
The SLUGGS survey: chromodynamical modelling of the lenticular galaxy NGC 1023
Globular clusters (GCs) can be considered discrete, long-lived, dynamical tracers that retain crucial information about the assembly history of their parent galaxy. In this paper, we present a newExpand
The SLUGGS Survey: Wide-field Stellar Kinematics of Early-type Galaxies
We present stellar kinematics of 22 nearby early-type galaxies (ETGs), based on two-dimensional (2D) absorption line stellar spectroscopy out to ~2-4 R e (effective radii), as part of the ongoingExpand
Dynamical models of elliptical galaxies – II. M87 and its globular clusters
We study the Globular Cluster (GC) system of the nearby elliptical galaxy M87 using the newly available dataset with accurate kinematics provided by Strader et al. (2011). We find evidence for threeExpand
A Gemini/GMOS study of the bright elliptical galaxy NGC 3613 and its globular cluster system
We present the first photometric study of the globular cluster system (GCS) of the E galaxy NGC 3613 (Mv = -21.5, d = 30.1 Mpc), as well as the surface photometry of the host galaxy, based onExpand
The SLUGGS survey: combining stars, globular clusters, and planetary nebulae to understand the assembly history of early-type galaxies from their large radii kinematics
We investigate the kinematic properties of nine nearby early-type galaxies with evidence of a disk-like component. Three of these galaxies are located in the field, five in the group and only one inExpand

Wide-field kinematics of globular clusters in the Leo I group
We present wide-field spectroscopy of globular clusters around the Leo I group galaxies NGC 3379 and NGC 3384 using the FLAMES multi-fibre instrument at the VLT. We obtain accurate radial velocitiesExpand
Properties of Globular Cluster Systems in Nearby Early-Type Galaxies
We present a study of globular clusters (GCs) in 17 relatively nearby early-type galaxies, based on deep F555W and F814W images from the Wide Field Planetary Camera 2, on board the Hubble SpaceExpand
NGC 1407 is the central elliptical in a nearby evolved group of galaxies apparently destined to become a galaxy cluster core. We use the kinematics of globular clusters (GCs) to probe the dynamicsExpand
Gemini/GMOS imaging of globular cluster systems in five early-type galaxies
This paper presents deep high quality photometry of globular cluster (GC) systems belonging to five early-type galaxies covering a range of mass and en vironment. Photometric data were obtained withExpand
Spectra of globular clusters in the Sombrero galaxy: evidence for spectroscopic metallicity bimodality
We present a large sample of over 200 integrated-light spectra of confirmed globular clusters (GCs) associated with the Sombrero (M104) galaxy taken with the Deep Imaging Multi-Object SpectrographExpand
The globular cluster system of NGC 5846 revisited: colours, sizes and x-ray counterparts
Context. NGC 5846 is a giant elliptical galaxy with a previously well studied globular cluster system (GCS), known to have a bimodal colour distribution with a remarkably high red fraction. Aims.Expand
The Globular Cluster Systems of the Early-Type Galaxies NGC 3379, NGC 4406, and NGC 4594 and Implications for Galaxy Formation
We have investigated the global properties of the globular cluster (GC) systems of three early-type galaxies: the Virgo Cluster elliptical NGC 4406, the field elliptical NGC 3379, and the field S0Expand
We present Hubble Space Telescope photometry and Keck spectroscopy of globular clusters (GCs) in the nearby S0 galaxy NGC 7457. The V – I color-magnitude diagram of GCs lacks the clear bimodalityExpand
Keck Spectroscopy of Globular Clusters around NGC 1399
We report moderate-resolution, high signal-to-noise ratio spectroscopy of globular clusters around NGC 1399, the central cD galaxy in the Fornax Cluster. We address issues as diverse as elementalExpand
On the origin of globular clusters in elliptical and cD galaxies
Perhaps the most noteworthy of recent findings in extragalactic globular cluster (GC) research are the multimodal GC metallicity distributions seen in massive early-type galaxies. We explore theExpand
