Paralleling the development of musical life in Baltimore in the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries was the development of a system of pedagogy unique to America-the singing school. The singing school along with the emerging choral society, a European institution, seemed to have an influence on the development of music as part of public education in Baltimore. The effects of instruction on the singing ability of children ages 5 to 11: A meta-analysis
The purpose of the meta-analysis was to address the varied results within the area of singing ability research by statistically summarizing the data of related studies. Across 34 studies, analyses
