We compared excision repair-proficient and repair-deficient diploid human fibroblasts, derived from normal individuals or xeroderma pigmentosum patients, for their response to the mutagenic and/or cytotoxic effect of ultraviolet radiation, or reactive derivatives of aromatic amines or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons.
