Abundant literature exists demonstrating the immunomodulating effects of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). To date, most of the research has focused on dioxin-like coplanar PCB congeners because of their high affinity for the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) and cytochrome P450-inducing capability.
