Quantitative studies of social dynamics involve the use of data which refer to behavior of change of status during an interval of time. At the present time statistical observations are predominantly static or based upon data which refer to status at some instant of time. If these static data are supplemented by mobility data, or data which refer to behavior or change of status during an interval, significant progress can be made toward quantification of the study of social dynamics.
