A total of 10 matches from the 1996 Hong Kong Badminton Open Tournament were video taped and notated. The analysis profiled the percentage distribution of shots with respect to court-areas; the frequency the players used the different serves; the area the players returned the most shots to; a rank order of the different return shots; and the playing effectiveness in relation to each court-area.
