Nuclear factor kappa B (NF-kappaB) regulates proinflammatory genes and may be involved in inflammation associated with reproductive events e.g. menstruation, implantation. Activation of NF-kappaB involves several protein kinases and subsequent degradation of an endogenous inhibitor, IkappaBalpha.
