The Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) publishes a home networking specification that is the deployed standard for the majority of service providers in North America. It is also being adopted in other parts of the world. MoCA enables highly robust, secure, and low-latency communication at net throughputs of over 400 Mb/s on the home coaxial cable. Its primary use is for the distribution of premium content video, including applications such as multiroom DVR. This paper presents a historical…
Hulu in the neighborhood
This paper presents a new system for a neighborhood-assisted video-on-demand service that reduces access link traffic by carefully placing VoD data across the neighborhood, and demonstrates that this approach can reduce the access network traffic that ISPs must provision for by up to 45% while still providing high-quality service.
Smart Home Communication Technologies and Applications: Wireless Protocol Assessment for Home Area Network Resources
Home Area Networks communication technologies for smart home and domestic application integration and a broad and inclusive home communication interface is analysed utilizing as a key piece a Gateway based on machine-to-machine (M2M) communications that interacts with the surrounding environment.
SAMU: Design and implementation of selectivity-aware MU-MIMO for wideband WiFi
In anticipation of the increasing demand of wireless traffic, WiFi standardization efforts have recently focused on two key technologies for capacity improvement: multi-user MIMO and wider bandwidth.
Recent Advances and Trends in High-Performance Embedded Data Converters
The typical requirements for Nyquist rate Analog-to-Digital Converters are presented, and the main conversion architectures are described in terms of the fundamental operations realized inside them, providing a deeper understanding of their fundamental limitations and trade-offs.
Analysis of Peak to Average Power Ratio Reduction in Optical Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) has become the popular modulation technique in high speed wireless communications. It is very advantageous to modern digital wireless communication
Performance Improvement for PAPR Reduction in OFDM with Frequency Domain Technique
OFDM is a most democratic procedure of data transmission for high speed communication system. Transmission technique of OFDM is multiple-carrier where single richly data rate stream is sub divided
