  author={Razia Iftikhar},
Results: The age of patients ranges between 18—35 years. Out of 30 patients 33.3% (n=10) were unmarried, 23.4% (n=7) were married with history of recurrent miscarriages and n=13 (43.3%) married woman with primary infertility. Subclinical Hypothyroidism Impact on the Characteristics of Patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. A Meta-Analysis of Observational Studies
The impact of subclinical hypothyroidism on the characteristics of PCOS patients was examined using a meta-analysis of published observational studies, and TC, TG and fasting glucose were higher in SCH-PCOS patients. Expand
An Open Labelled, Active Controlled, Three-Arm, Parallel- Group study of the safety and efficacy of the oral formulation of Oral Iodine Complex (RENESSANS) administered alone and in combination with standard interferon therapy in patients suffering from Chronic HCV Hepatitis.
Iodine complex showed a significant synergistic effect when combined interferon+ribavirin regimen and could be useful in relapsers and non-responders. Expand
An in vitro antiviral activity of iodine complexes against SARS-CoV-2
It is indicated that Renessans, containing iodine, have potential activity against SARS-CoV-2 which needs to be further investigated in human clinical trials. Expand
An in vitro assessment of anti-SARS-CoV-2 activity of oral preparations of iodine complexes (RENESSANS)
Renessans, containing iodine, may have potential activity against SARS-CoV-2 which needs to be further investigated in human clinical trials, according to this study. Expand

Subclinical hypothyroidism: a determinant of polycystic ovary syndrome.
Comparative analysis of the results suggests that hypothyroidism is invariably followed by a lowering of sex hormone binding globulin and an increment in the free testosterone level, but further metabolism of testosterone (T) may or may not be directed towards an overproduction of estriol (E3). Expand
Sub-clinical hypothyroidism and hyperprolactinemia in infertile women: Bangladesh perspective after universal salt iodination
Prevalence of hyperprolactinemia was higher in primary infertility and prevalence of sub-clinical hypothyroidism wasHigher in secondary infertility, showing no correlation between TSH and prolactin levels in these two groups. Expand
Metformin decreases thyrotropin in overweight women with polycystic ovarian syndrome and hypothyroidism
In obese PCOS patients with primary hypothyroidism, metformin results in a significant fall and sometimes normalisation of TSH, without causing any reciprocal changes in other thyroid function parameters. Expand
Subclinical hypothyroidism in young women with polycystic ovary syndrome: an analysis of clinical, hormonal, and metabolic parameters.
In young women with PCOS, SCH is associated with higher low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels, albeit with no changes in other lipid profile parameters, insulin resistance, or phenotypic manifestations, adding to current evidence supporting an association between PCOS and SCH. Expand
High prevalence of polycystic ovary syndrome characteristics in girls with euthyroid chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis: a case-control study.
Higher prevalence ofPCOS characteristics in euthyroid CLT girls when compared to controls suggest possible role of autoimmune phenomenon in the etiopathogenesis of PCOS. Expand
Ignored adult primary hypothyroidism presenting chiefly with persistent ovarian cysts: a need for increased awareness
This report describes an unusual case in which persistent ovarian cysts are associated with primary hypothyroidism in a young woman and the exons of the gene encoding the human follicle-stimulating hormone receptor were sequenced. Expand
Thyroid disease and female reproduction.
New data, mainly concerning menstrual abnormalities in hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism, are inconsistent with what is generally believed and written in the classic thyroid textbooks and indicate that such opinions should be revised. Expand
Prevalence of hypothyroidism in recurrent pregnancy loss in first trimester.
The study demonstrates that hypothyroidism has a statistically significant relationship with recurrent pregnancy loss in the first trimester and suggests that diagnosis of hypothy thyroidism could help couples with recurrentregnancy loss to have a successful outcome in subsequent pregnancies. Expand
[Disorders of thyroid function and fertility disorders].
The authors present scientific discoveries from recent years, which seem to be crucial for the explanation of the thyroid-ovary relation and present the treatment algorithm for practical clinical application of experimental knowledge of human reproduction. Expand
Endocrine disorders & female infertility.
An algorithm is proposed for the diagnosis and approach of the female patient presenting with infertility on the basis of the available evidence in literature, for which novel treatments are currently being developed and discussed. Expand
