This research reviews, in chronological order, the modern history of the profession of counselling in Malaysian. The literature review begins with the policy, regulations and government legislation. It then describes the training of counsellors in Malaysia and the services they offer. The article concludes by asking four senior figures in Malaysian counselling their opinions about the future of counselling in Malaysia.
