Summary 1. Under the experimental conditions used biotin could not be liberated from combination with avidin by the proteolytic enzymes—pepsin, trypsin, pancreatin, and papain—nor by incubation with liver, kidney, muscle, or blood. 2. Biotin could be liberated from the avidin-biotin complex by oxidation with 0.45% H2O2. Amounts of yeast active material equivalent to 10 to 20% of the biotin originally bound were found.

Dissociation of avidin-biotin complex in vivo

Es wurde mittels des mit14C markierten Biotins und mit131J markierten Avidins gezeigt, dass der Avidin-Biotin-Komplex, i.p. oder i.v. in Ratten injiziert, dissoziert war.

The Levels of Biotin and Biotinidase in Bovine Milk

The concentrations of total biotin and free-form biotin in bovine milk have been determined by a new disc plate method. Increases in the contents of both total and free-form biotins were found in

Natural antimicrobials from animals

TLDR
A commentary is offered on the nature of various antimicrobial systems and attributes which ought to commend them to food microbiologists who seek improvements in one or other of the following.

Effect of dietary antagonists and corresponding nutrients on growth and reproduction of the flour mite (Acarus siro L.)

TLDR
Folic acid, riboflavin, thiamine, niacin, pyridoxine, biotin and a sterol are essential for the growth and reproduction of the flour mite.

Identification of Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor Recycling and Its Role in Maintaining Receptor Density at the Neuromuscular Junction In Vivo

TLDR
It is shown that nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (AChRs) recycle into the postsynaptic membrane of the neuromuscular junction, and an activity-dependent AChR-recycling mechanism is identified that enables the regulation of receptor density, which could lead to rapid alterations in synaptic efficacy.

TLDR
Experimental investigations into the basic mechanisms involved in the reaction of rats to egg- white might reveal new and more effective treatments against egg-white allergy in man.
