We have obtained optical intermediate-resolution spectra (R = 3000) of the narrow-line quasars DMS 0059-0055 and PG 1543+489. The [O III] emission line in DMS 0059-0055 is blueshifted by 880 km s-1 relative to Hβ. We also confirm that the [O III] emission line in PG 1543+489 has a relative blueshift of 1150 km s-1. These two narrow-line quasars show the largest [O III] blueshifts known to date among type 1 active galactic nuclei (AGNs). The [O III] emission lines in both objects are broad (1000…

The blueshift of the [O iii] emission line in narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies
We investigate the radial velocity difference between the narrow emission-line components of [O III] λ5007 and Hβ in a sample of 150 Sloan Digital Sky Survey narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies. Seven
Evolution of [O III] λ5007 Emission-line Profiles in Narrow Emission-line Galaxies
The active galactic nucleus (AGN)-host co-evolution issue is investigated here by focusing on the evolution of the [O III] λ5007 emission-line profile. A large sample of narrow emission-line galaxies
[O III] line properties in two samples of radio-emitting narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies
The [O III] $\lambda\lambda$ 4959,5007 lines are a useful proxy to test the kinematic of the narrow-line region (NLR) in active galactic nuclei (AGN). In AGN, and particularly in narrow-line Seyfert
Asymmetric emission of the [OIII]λ5007 profile in narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxies
Context. Many active galactic nuclei (AGN) and particularly narrow-line Seyfert 1 (NLS1) galaxies, usually exhibit blueshifts and blue wings in several emission lines, which are mainly associated
On the Nature of Seyfert Galaxies with High [O III] λ5007 Blueshifts
We have studied the properties of Seyfert galaxies with high [O III] ?5007 blueshifts (blue outliers), originally identified because of their strong deviation from the -->MBH ? ? relation of normal,
A 100 pc-scale fast and dense outflow in the narrow-line Seyfert 1 galaxy IRAS 04576+0912
We report the initial result of an adaptive-optics assisted, optical integral-field-unit observation on IRAS04576+0912, the nearest (z=0.039) active galactic nucleus with a prominent blueshift/tail
VLT/ISAAC spectra of the Hβ region in intermediate-redshift quasars III. Hβ broad-line profile analysis and inferences about BLR structure
Aims. We present new VLT ISAAC spectra for 30 quasars, which we combine with previous data to yield a sample of 53 intermediateredshift (z ≈ 0.9–3.0) sources. The sample is used to explore properties
On the peculiar properties of the narrow-line quasar PG 1543+489
We present the analysis of four XMM-Newton observations of the narrow-line quasar PG 1543+489 at z=0.400 carried out over a rest-frame time-scale of about three years. The X-ray spectrum is
The broad wing of the [O III] λ5007 emission line in active galactic nuclei
We use a sample of type 2 active galactic nuclei (AGNs) from SDSS DR7 in which the [O III] λ5007 emission line can be modeled by two Gaussian components, a broad wing plus a narrow core, to
Study of Outflows in Luminous Quasars at Redshift ∼0.4–0.8
We perform a systematic study of outflow in the narrow-line region (NLR) of active galactic nuclei (AGNs) at $z\sim0.4-0.8$ basing upon a large sample of $\sim900$ quasars at $z\sim 0.4-0.8$. The

Kinematic Linkage between the Broad- and Narrow-Line-emitting Gas in Active Galactic Nuclei
We investigate the radial velocity difference between the [O III] λλ4959, 5007 and Hβ lines for a sample of ≈200 low-redshift active galactic nuclei. We identify seven objects showing an [O III]
An Optical Spectroscopic Atlas of Low-Redshift Active Galactic Nuclei
We present a spectral atlas of the Hβ region for 215 type 1 AGNs (luminous Seyfert 1/radio galaxy nuclei and low-z quasars) up to z ≈ 0.8. Line profiles and measures were derived from the database of

Reverberation Measurements for 17 Quasars and the Size-Mass-Luminosity Relations in Active Galactic Nuclei
Correlated variations in the line and continuum emission from active galactic nuclei (AGNs) can be used to determine the size and geometry of the broad emission-line regions (BLRs). We have spectro-
A spectrophotometric atlas of narrow-line seyfert 1 galaxies
We have compiled a list of 83 objects classified as Narrow-Line Seyfert 1 galaxies (NLS1s) or known to have a broad Balmer component narrower than 2000 km/s. Out of these, 19 turned out to have been
H I emission from quasar host galaxies
A 22-cm wavelength search has been conducted for H I emission from the host galaxies of all seven real quasars with z of less than 0.1 which lie in a declination range of between +2 and +35 deg. Both
Central Masses and Broad-Line Region Sizes of Active Galactic Nuclei. I. Comparing the Photoionization and Reverberation Techniques
The masses and emission-line region sizes of active galactic nuclei (AGNs) can be measured by "reverberation-mapping" techniques, and we use these results to calibrate similar determinations made by
