We discuss the possibility of performing precise tests of μ / e universality in B → π ℓ + ℓ - decays. We show that in wide regions of the dilepton invariant mass spectrum the ratio between muonic and electronic decay widths can be predicted with high accuracy, both within and beyond the Standard Model. We present numerical expressions which can be used to extract precise information on short-distance dynamics if a deviation from universality is observed in the data.

Fingerprinting CP-violating New Physics with B → Kμ+μ−

The B → Kℓ+ℓ− system is particularly interesting to explore physics beyond the Standard Model. Such effects could provide new sources of CP violation, thereby giving rise to Wilson coefficients which

On the breaking of lepton flavor universality in B decays

A bstractIn view of recent experimental indications of violations of Lepton Flavor Universality (LFU) in B decays, we analyze constraints and implications of LFU interactions, both using an effective

Anomalies in B-decays and U(2) flavor symmetry

The collection of a few anomalies in semileptonic B-decays invites to speculate about the emergence of some strikingly new phenomena. Here we offer a possible interpretation of these anomalies in the

B-physics anomalies: a guide to combined explanations

A bstractMotivated by additional experimental hints of Lepton Flavour Universality violation in B decays, both in charged- and in neutral-current processes, we analyse the ingredients necessary to

Addendum to: Emerging patterns of New Physics with and without Lepton Flavour Universal contributions

This paper is an addendum to Ref. Eur. Phys. J. C79 (2019) no. 8, 714 that supersedes all results (Tables and Figures) in that paper after including the new data on the $$B\rightarrow K^*\mu \mu $$ B

Flavour physics from an approximate U(2)3 symmetry

A bstractThe quark sector of the Standard Model exhibits an approximate U(2)3 flavour symmetry. This symmetry, broken in specific directions dictated by minimality, can explain the success of the

|Vub | from B →π ν decays and (2+1)-flavor lattice QCD

We present a lattice-QCD calculation of the B → πlν semileptonic form factors and a new determination of the CKM matrix element |Vub|. We use the MILC asqtad (2+1)-flavor lattice configurations at

Bs → Kℓνℓ and B(s) → π(K)ℓ+ℓ− decays at large recoil and CKM matrix elements

A bstractWe provide hadronic input for the B-meson semileptonic transitions to a light pseudoscalar meson at large recoil. The Bs → K form factor calculated from QCD light-cone sum rule is updated,
