Problem Based Learning (PBL) has become a popular alternative teaching and learning approach in many engineering courses. However, as academics, we are often content when we have added a project to a subject to provide some integration of the concepts. On closer inspection, students' learning approaches don't change; they still expect staff to provide all the answers. This paper describes some of the key dimensions of Problem Based Learning.
