Iranodendrothrips kamalii gen. et sp. n. is described from northeast of Iran and the morphological relationships among the closely related genera, Dendrothrips and Filicopsothrips, are discussed. Pseudodendrothrips bhattii is reported for the first time from Iran. Illustrated keys are provided to the genera and species of Dendrothripinae from Iran.

The genus Sericothrips Haliday is reported for the first time from Iran, based on the materials collected on Lotus sp. and identified as S. bicornis (Karny). The illustrations are provided for the

The first record of Dendrothrips aspersus (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) from Iran

The species Dendrothrips aspersus Bhatti, 1971 is reported for the first time from Iran, based on the materials collected on grasses, and the number of thrips species that have been recently recorded from Iran are tabulated.

Thrips (Insecta, Thysanoptera) of Iran: a revised and updated checklist

In Iran, as a result of recent changes in nomenclature 201 species and one species group of the insect Order Thysanoptera are here listed in 70 genera and five families, and 12 species are excluded from the Iranian list.

Saltatorial Leaf Feeding Genus Pseudodendrothrips (Terebrantia: Thysanoptera) and Its Species from Pakistan

Pseudodendrothrips bhatti Kudo has been collected from mountainous to sub‐mountainous tracts and is easily identified on the basis of metafurca which is much enlarged and hind tarsus which is greatly enlarged contrasting to fore and mid tarsi.

Host relationships at plant family level in Dendrothrips Uzel (Thysanoptera: Thripidae: Dendrothripinae) with a new Australian species

The genus Dendrothrips Uzel comprises 50 described species from the Old World, including a fourth species from Australia, and these thrips are mainly associated with trees and shrubs, and the plant families involved come from five of the six subclasses of the Dicotyledonae.

Thysanoptera phylogeny - the morphological background

This paper attempts to set out hypotheses of relationships between the family groups of the insect Order Thysanoptera, based on defined apomorphies, for future testing by molecular methods.

Oriental and Pacific Thripidae (Thysanoptera) new to Australia, with a new species of Pseudodendrothrips schmutz.

Nine species of Thripidac not yet, or only recently, listed from Australia are recorded from Queensland, with 'Pseudodetulrothrips alexei' described as new. Seven of these species are known from

Saltatorial leaf‐feeding Thysanoptera (Thripidae: Dendrothripinae) from Australia and New Caledonia, with newly recorded pests of ferns, figs and mulberries

Thrips of the subfamily Dendrothripinae that have been observed alive are all remarkably saltatorial. Each of them has an elongate and characteristically lyre-shaped metathoracic endofurca, to which

The insect order Tysanoptera: Classification versus systematics

Two widely different classifications of the insect order Thysanoptera are discussed; an essentially phylogenetic system recognizing nine families in two suborders, and an essentially phenetic system

The classification of Terebrantia (Insecta) into families

Abstract The Order Terebrantia is now reorganized into 28 families in 6 superfamilies, indicating the phyletic lineages of the various groups. Interpretation of their phylogenetic relationships is
