The effects of hexane and ethanol organic extracts of jatropha Jatropha curcas seeds, argel (Solenostemma argel (Del.) stem and malathion on mortality and fecundity of the tomato leaf miner Tuta absoluta were evaluated under laboratory conditions at a temperature of 27 ± 2c and a relative humidity of 30 ± 5%. Two-day old adults were tested against four different concentrations of each extract. The mortality results showed that all tested concentrations gave significantly higher mortality… Expand
Euphorbia guyoniana Ethanolic Extract Efficiency Against Tomato Leaf Miner in Southeastern Algeria
TLDR
The ethanolic extract of E. guyoniana revealed that it could constitute a good means of managing T. absoluta that might be introduced in sustainable organic agriculture. Expand
Potential of Zygophyllum album L. to control Tuta absoluta in Southeastern Algeria
TLDR
The data show that the toxicity of Z. album aqueous extract against T. absoluta increases with time and from the highest dose to the smallest one, and shows a repulsive effect of Zygophyllum album against T.'soluta females. Expand
Euphorbia guyoniana aqueous extract efficiency against tomato leaf miner in southern East Algeria
TLDR
The toxicity of E. guyoniana against the larvae of T. absoluta increases with time of their contact with the extract but also with the highest dose (100%) to the least important (25%). Expand

Within-plant distribution of the leaf miner Tuta absoluta (Meyrick) immatures in processing tomatoes, with notes on plant phenology
TLDR
Evaluated site preference of tomato leaf miner, Tuta absoluta (Meyrick) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae), developmental stages on processing tomatoes found the pupation was higher on leaves, followed by soil, mainstems and fruit (stage III), respectively, while higher pupation at stage I was observed on the apical part, while at stages II andIII it was similar among the three plant parts. Capture of Tuta absoluta (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) in traps baited with its sex pheromone
TLDR
It is suggested that this pheromone can detect this insect pest even in low populations and represente a new alternative to monitor and/or control populations in an IFM program. Expand
Biological invasion of European tomato crops by Tuta absoluta: ecology, geographic expansion and prospects for biological control
TLDR
A review of information on the invasion by T. absoluta, its ecology, and potential management strategies, including data that may help the implementation of efficient biological control programs, indicates an urgent need for efficient and sustainable management methods. Expand
Insecticide resistance in populations of Tuta absoluta (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae)
TLDR
Control failures of insecticides used against the tomato leafminer Tuta absoluta (Meyrick) in Brazil led to the investigation of the possible occurrence of resistance of this insect pest to abamectin, cartap, methamidophos and permethrin. Expand
