We identified new pre-main sequence stars in the region of high-latitude molecular clouds associated with the reflection nebula IC 2118, around $l \sim 208\degr$ and $b \sim -27\degr$. The stars were selected as T Tauri candidates in objective prism plates obtained with the Schmidt telescope of Konkoly Observatory. Results of spectroscopic follow-up observations, carried out with the FLAIR spectrograph installed on the UK Schmidt and with ALFOSC on Nordic Optical Telescope, are presented in… Expand

Pre‐main‐sequence stars in the Lagoon Nebula (M8)★
We report the discovery of new pre-main sequence (PMS) stars in the Lagoon Nebula (M8) at a distance of 1.25 kpc, based on intermediate resolution spectra obtained with the Boller & ChivensExpand
SPITZER OBSERVATIONS OF IC 2118
IC 2118, also known as the Witch Head Nebula, is a wispy, roughly cometary, ~5 degree long reflection nebula, and is thought to be a site of triggered star formation. In order to search for new youngExpand
Low-mass star formation in Lynds 1333
ABSTRACT Medium-resolution optical spectroscopy of the candidate YSOs associated with thesmall, nearby molecular cloud Lynds 1333 revealed four previously unknown classicalT Tauri stars, two of whichExpand
Lynds 1622: a nearby star‐forming cloud projected on Orion B?
ABSTRACT We present results of optical spectroscopic and photometric observation of the pre-main sequence stars associated with the cometary shaped dark cloud Lynds 1622, and 12 CO and 13 COExpand
Multiwavelength study of the high-latitude cloud L1642: chain of star formation
Context. L1642 is one of the two high galactic latitude (|b| > 30°) clouds confirmed to have active star formation. Aims. We examine the properties of this cloud, especially the large-scaleExpand
Triggered Star Formation by Massive Stars
We present our diagnosis of the role that massive stars play in the formation of low- and intermediate-mass stars in OB associations (the λ Ori region, Ori OB1, and Lac OB1 associations). We findExpand
The Star Formation in the L1615/L1616 Cometary Cloud
The present work aims at performing a comprehensive census and characterization of the pre-main-sequence (PMS) population in the cometary cloud L1615/L1616, in order to assess the significance of theExpand
TRIGGERED STAR FORMATION ON THE BORDER OF THE ORION-ERIDANUS SUPERBUBBLE
A census of classical T Tauri stars and Herbig Ae/Be stars has been performed around the Orion-Eridanus Superbubble that is ionized and created by the Ori OB1 association. This sample is used toExpand
Multigenerational Star Formation in L1551
The L1551 molecular cloud is undergoing a long and sustained period of relatively high efficiency star formation. It contains two small clusters of Class 0 and I protostars, as well as a halo of moreExpand
Kompaneets model fitting of the Orion–Eridanus superbubble
Winds and supernovae from OB associations create large cavities in the interstellar medium referred to as superbubbles. The Orion molecular clouds are the nearest high mass star-forming region andExpand

Spectroscopy of possible Hα emission stars in regions of high galactic latitude molecular clouds
We present mid-resolution spectroscopic observations of 63 faint (V =12-16) stars identified by Kun (1992) as Hα emission candidates in an objective prism survey of several high galactic latitudeExpand
New weak-line T Tauri stars in Orion from the ROSAT all-sky survey
We present results of the spectroscopic and photometric follow-up observations of the ROSAT all- sky survey in the direction of the Orion cloud complex. The main goal of these observations is theExpand
Very Low Mass Stars and Brown Dwarfs in Taurus-Auriga
We present high-resolution optical spectra obtained with the HIRES spectrograph on the W. M. Keck I Telescope of seven low-mass T Tauri stars (LMTTs) and brown dwarfs in Taurus-Auriga. The observedExpand
Study of Molecular Clouds and Star Formation in the Region of IC 2118
We carried out a 12 CO surveyof molecular clouds in the region of the reflection nebula IC 2118. Our observations covered the whole area of IC 2118 (∼ 6deg 2 ) with a 2. 6 beam at a 4 gridExpand
Solar-type stars in Cepheus OB 2: Hα emission stars and IRAS point sources
A survey for emission line stars was carried out in 1980 with the Schmidt telescope of Konkoly Observatory in the region of IC 1396 (Kun, 1986a, hereafter referred to as Paper I). This work was aimedExpand
Triggered star formation in Orion cometary clouds? I. The case of L1616
We present new 1.2 mm continuum maps and near- and mid-infrared images of the cometary cloud L1616 located to the west of the Orion OB associations and apparently shaped by the winds and radiationExpand
A Large Spectroscopic Survey for Young Low-Mass Members of the Upper Scorpius OB Association
We present the results of a large intermediate-resolution spectroscopic survey for pre–main-sequence (PMS) stars in the Upper Scorpius OB association, the nearest region of recent massive starExpand
A C18O Survey of Dense Cloud Cores in Taurus: Star Formation
This paper discusses star formation in the 40 C18O molecular cloud cores in Taurus by studying relations between the cores and young stellar objects (YSOs). These C18O cores constitute a completeExpand
Remnant Molecular Clouds in the Ori OB 1 Association
We suggest and give some evidence that as an HII region expands and the O stars evolve into B giants, remains of the molecular clouds first appear as bright-rimmed clouds, then as cometary globulesExpand
Search for Molecular Clouds toward Intermediate-to-High Latitude IRAS Sources in the Southern Sky
We have conducted a search for molecular clouds toward southern IRAS point sources at intermediateto-high galactic latitude (|6| > 10°) in CO (J = 1-0) emission with the NANTEN telescope. The mainExpand
