Introduction The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) was established in 1983 under a common charter signed by UNESCO and the eight regional member countries of the Hindu Kush Himalayan (HKH) region. The Government of Nepal enacted the ICIMOD Act through its Parliament in accordance with the agreements reached between it and UNESCO.
