We present H I21-cm line observations, obtained with the Australia Telescope Compact Array, of two dwarf elliptical galaxies (dEs) in the Fomax cluster: FCC032 and FCC336. The optical positions and velocities of these galaxies place them well within the Fornax cluster. FCC032 was detected at the 3σ significance level with a total HI flux density of 0.66 ± 0.22 Jy km s -1 or an HI mass of 5.0 ± 1.7 x 10 7 h -2 75 M ○. . Based on our deep Ha + [N II] narrow-band images, obtained with FORS2…

Detection of Neutral Hydrogen in Early-Type Dwarf Galaxies of the Sculptor Group

We present results of deep 21 cm neutral hydrogen (H I) line observations of five early- and mixed-type dwarf galaxies in the nearby Sculptor group using the Australia Telescope National Facility 64

The H I content of the recently discovered field dwarf galaxy APPLES 1

We present observations in a search for neutral hydrogen associated with the recently detected field dwarf galaxy APPLES 1, performed with the Parkes radiotelescope. The observed radio spectrum shows

Interstellar Medium Disruption in the Centaurus A Group

We present the results of a 21 cm neutral hydrogen (H I) line detection experiment in the direction of 18 low-luminosity dwarf galaxies of the Centaurus A group, using the Australia Telescope

FCC046: A CANDIDATE GASEOUS POLAR RING DWARF ELLIPTICAL GALAXY IN THE FORNAX CLUSTER

FCC046 is a Fornax Cluster dwarf elliptical galaxy. Optical observations have shown that this galaxy, besides an old and metal-poor stellar population, also contains a very young centrally

The Herschel Virgo Cluster Survey. VII. Dust in cluster dwarf elliptical galaxies

We use the science demonstration phase data of the Herschel Virgo Cluster Survey to search for dust emission of early-type dwarf galaxies in the central regions of the Virgo cluster as an alternative

Hubble Space Telescope survey of the Perseus cluster - II. Photometric scaling relations in different environments

We investigate the global photometric scaling relations traced by early-type galaxies in different environments, ranging from dwarf spheroidals, over dwarf elliptical galaxies (dEs), up to giant

The relation between stellar populations, structure and environment for dwarf elliptical galaxies from the MAGPOP-ITP

Dwarf galaxies, as the most numerous type of galaxy, offer the potential to study galaxy formation and evolution in detail in the nearby universe. Although they seem to be simple systems at first

Dust and Star Formation in Early-type Dwarf Elliptical Galaxies in the Fornax- and Virgo Cluster

Physical properties of dust in early-type dwarf elliptical galaxies (dEs) in the Fornaxand Virgo cluster have been determined by using Spectral Energy Distribution (SED) modelling. 6 objects in the

Formation and evolution of dwarf elliptical galaxies – II. Spatially resolved star formation histories

We present optical Very Large Telescope spectroscopy of 16 dwarf elliptical galaxies (dEs) comparable in mass to NGC 205, and belonging to the Fornax cluster and to nearby groups of galaxies. Using

The transmutation of dwarf galaxies: stellar populations

Transition-type dwarf (TTD) galaxies share characteristics of early-and late-type dwarfs. Thus, they are suspected to be the thread that connects them. We selected 19 TTD galaxies in the nearby

Evidence for a warm interstellar medium in the Fornax dwarf ellipticals FCC046 and FCC207

We present Hα+[N II] narrow-band imaging of FCC046 and FCC207, two dwarf ellipticals (dES) in the Fornax cluster. B-R and B-I colour maps clearly show signs of dust absorption in FCC207. FCC046 has a

Evidence for a warm interstellar medium in Fornax dwarf elliptical galaxies¿ II. FCC032, FCC206 and FCCB729

We present R-band and Hα+[N ii] narrow-band imaging of FCC032, FCC206 and FCCB729, three dwarf elliptical galaxies (dEs) in the Fornax cluster. These dEs contain significant amounts of ionized gas.

The evolution and star formation of dwarf galaxies in the Fornax Cluster

We present the results of a spectroscopic survey of 675 bright (16.5 < b(J) < 18) galaxies in a 6 degrees field centred on the Fornax cluster with the FLAIR-II spectrograph on the UK Schmidt

Completing H I observations of galaxies in the Virgo cluster

High sensitivity (rms noise $\sim 0.5$ mJy) 21-cm HI line observations were made of 33 galaxies in the Virgo cluster, using the refurbished Arecibo telescope, which resulted in the detection of 12

The Neutral Interstellar Medium in Nearby Dwarf Galaxies. II. NGC 185, NGC 205, and NGC 147

We present new, high-resolution observations of the interstellar medium (ISM) in the two dwarf elliptical galaxies NGC 185 and NGC 205, as well as a new upper limit on the H I content of the dwarf
