ABSTRACT Although Pelicinus Simon and its type species P. marmoratus Simon were initially described from Saint Vincent in the Lesser Antilles, we hypothesize that Pelicinus is primarily an Old World genus, occurring natively in both southern Asia and Australasia. The type species has attained an anomalously pantropical distribution, and has been described at least eight times, in at least seven different genera; all those synonyms were based on island populations. The Goblin Spider Genus Ischnothyreus (Araneae, Oonopidae) in the New World
TLDR
The goblin spider genus Ischnothyreus Simon appears to be an Old World taxon that is represented in the New World only by two presumably introduced, pantropical, synanthropic species: I. peltifer (Simon) and I. velox Jackson. Expand
Got Males?: The Enigmatic Goblin Spider Genus Triaeris (Araneae, Oonopidae)
TLDR
The type species of the goblin spider genus Triaeris Simon was originally described from Saint Vincent in the Lesser Antilles, but has attained a pantropical distribution and even has introduced populations living in European greenhouses. Expand
The Caribbean Goblin Spider Genera Scaphioides and Hortoonops (Araneae, Oonopidae)
TLDR
A new genus, Hortoonops, is established for three similar Caribbean species that lack the synapomorphies of both Stenoonops and Scaphioides, but are united by peculiar excavations on the anterior metatarsi that represent an extraordinary convergence with the structures found in the African corinnid genus Hortipes Bosselaers and Ledoux. Expand
Taxonomic Review of the Goblin Spiders of the Genus Dysderoides Fage and Their Himalayan Relatives of the Genera Trilacuna Tong and Li and Himalayana, New Genus (Araneae: Oonopidae)
TLDR
The genitalic and somatic morphology of the three genera suggest that they conform a monophyletic group, here named “Dysderoides complex,” and that their closer relatives can be found among Prethopalpus Baehr et al., and other genera related to Silhouettella Benoit. Expand
The Goblin Spiders of the New Genus Volborattella (Araneae: Oonopidae) from Madagascar
TLDR
A new genus of goblin spider from Madagascar, Volborattella Saucedo and Ubick, is proposed and its five included species newly described and illustrated and it is suggested that these differences in handedness (antisymmetry) are evenly distributed. Expand
Novas espécies do gênero Neoxyphinus birabén 1953 (Araneae: Oonopidae) do Brasil
TLDR
Twenty-seven new species of the genus Neoxyphinus are described, all from Brazil, and possible monophyletic lineages within the genus are discussed. Expand
Checklist of the spiders (Araneae) of Kenya
TLDR
A checklist of 805 spider species and subspecies belonging to 57 families described and/or reported from Kenya up to 31 December 2018 is provided and each record is presented in its original combination. Expand
A radiation of the ornate Caribbean ‘smiley-faced spiders’, with descriptions of 15 new species (Araneae: Theridiidae, Spintharus)
TLDR
15 new species are described and diagnoses based on the combination of molecular and morphological data, including S. davidattenboroughi sp. Expand
Indian Ocean Goblin Spiders (Araneae, Oonopidae): four New Species of Pelicinoids from Madagascar, with a Redescription of the Type Species Silhouettella curieusei Benoit, 1979
TLDR
A new diagnosis for Silhouettella is provided, its type species, S. curieusei, from the Seychelles is redescribed, and its morphology thoroughly documented with digital images. Expand
Sicariomorpha, a New Myrmecophilous Goblin Spider Genus (Araneae, Oonopidae) Associated with Asian Army Ants
TLDR
Sicarimorpha maschwitzi, which is a kleptoparasite of the Southeast Asian army ant Leptogenys distinguenda (Emery) and one among only few well-studied myrmecophilous spiders, seems to be well adapted for the life with its predatory army ant host. Expand

The Goblin Spider Genera Opopaea and Epectris (Araneae, Oonopidae) in the New World
TLDR
It is hypothesized that Opopaea is not native to the New World, and is represented in America only by introduced species that, although now pantropical in distribution, are of Old World origin. Expand
The Goblin Spider Genera Stenoonops and Australoonops (Araneae, Oonopidae), with Notes on Related Taxa
Abstract The goblin spider genus Stenoonops Simon is relimited to include those spineless oonopids with a soft abdomen but a well-sclerotized cephalothorax, elevated and pointed sternal extensionsExpand
The Andean Goblin Spiders of the New Genus Scaphidysderina (Araneae, Oonopidae), with Notes on Dysderina
TLDR
A second new genus, Costarina, is established to contain the most commonly encountered species that have been misplaced in Dysderina, and the new genus Scaphidysderina is established for one of those related but distinct Andean groups, characterized by a crenulated sternum and by the reduction of the dorsal abdominal scutum in females. Expand
The American Goblin Spiders of the New Genus Escaphiella (Araneae, Oonopidae)
TLDR
A new genus, Escaphiella, is established for a group of 36 oonopid species found from the United States south to Chile and Argentina, and the female of E. hespera is described for the first time, and 29 new species are described. Expand
The genus Triaeris Simon (Araneae, Oonopidae) in Central America and the West Indies
