The GALEX Ultraviolet Virgo Cluster Survey (GUViCS) is a complete blind survey of the Virgo cluster covering similar to 40 sq. deg in the far UV (FUV, lambda(eff) = 1539 angstrom, Delta lambda = 442 angstrom) and similar to 120 sq. deg in the near UV (NUV, lambda(eff) = 2316 angstrom, Delta lambda = 1060 angstrom). The goal of the survey is to study the ultraviolet (UV) properties of galaxies in a rich cluster environment, spanning a wide luminosity range from giants to dwarfs, and regardless…
The GALEX Ultraviolet Virgo Cluster Survey (GUViCS). VI: The UV luminosity function of the Virgo cluster and its surrounding regions
We use the GALEX data of the GUViCS survey to construct the NUV luminosity function of the Virgo cluster over ~ 300 deg.2, an area covering the cluster and its surrounding regions up to ~ 1.8 virial
The GALEX Ultraviolet Virgo Cluster Survey (GUViCS). IV: The role of the cluster environment on galaxy evolution
We study the role of the environment on galaxy evolution using a sample of 868 galaxies in the Virgo cluster and in its surrounding regions that are selected from the GALEX Ultraviolet Virgo Cluster
The GALEX Ultraviolet Virgo Cluster Survey (GUViCS) - III. The ultraviolet source catalogs
In this paper we introduce the deepest and most extensive ultraviolet extragalactic source catalogs of the Virgo Cluster area to date. Archival and targeted GALEX imaging is compiled and combined to
The GALEX Ultraviolet Virgo Cluster Survey (GUViCS)
Aims. We present the first detection of diffuse dust in the intra-cluster medium of the Virgo cluster out to ∼0.4 virial radii, and study the radial variation of its properties on a radial scale of
The Next Generation Virgo Cluster Survey (NGVS). XXIV. The Red Sequence to ∼106 L⊙ and Comparisons with Galaxy Formation Models
We use deep optical photometry from the Next Generation Virgo Cluster Survey (NGVS) to investigate the color–magnitude diagram for the galaxies inhabiting the core of this cluster. The sensitivity of
THE NEXT GENERATION VIRGO CLUSTER SURVEY. XXII. SHELL FEATURE EARLY-TYPE DWARF GALAXIES IN THE VIRGO CLUSTER*
The Next Generation Virgo Cluster Survey is a deep (with a 2σ detection limit μg = 29 mag arcsec−2 in the g-band) optical panchromatic survey targeting the Virgo cluster from its core to virial
DEEP ULTRAVIOLET LUMINOSITY FUNCTIONS AT THE INFALL REGION OF THE COMA CLUSTER
We have used deep GALEX observations at the infall region of the Coma cluster to measure the faintest ultraviolet (UV) luminosity functions (LFs) presented for a rich galaxy cluster thus far. The
A Virgo Environmental Survey Tracing Ionised Gas Emission (VESTIGE)
Context. The evolution of galaxies depends on their interaction with the surrounding environment. Ultra-diffuse galaxies (UDGs) have been found in large numbers in clusters. We detected a few
Hα3: an Hα imaging survey of HI selected galaxies from ALFALFA - II. Star formation properties of galaxies in the Virgo cluster and surroundings
Context. We present the analysis of H alpha 3, an H alpha narrow-band imaging follow-up survey of 409 galaxies selected from the HI Arecibo Legacy Fast ALFA Survey (ALFALFA) in the Local
The Herschel Virgo Cluster Survey XVI: a cluster inventory ⋆
Herschel far-infrared (FIR) observations are used to construct Virgo cluster galaxy luminosity functions and to show that the cluster lacks the very bright and the numerous faint sources detected in

We present ultraviolet (UV) color–magnitude relations (CMRs) of early-type dwarf galaxies in the Virgo cluster, based on Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX) UV and Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS)
The Ultraviolet Galaxy Luminosity Function in the Local Universe from GALEX Data
We present the results of a determination of the galaxy luminosity function at ultraviolet wavelengths at redshifts of z = 0.0-0.1 from Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX) data. We determined the
